But Best of All We Love that Call of SAI

I am so excited to say that I have been a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota for over a year. April 7th is what we call our crossaversery! My life has definitely changed for the better in the last year.

Anyway, some people might know, SAI is a fraternity. And to that you might be asking

Yeah.. I get that a lot! I am a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota. We are a professional academic fraternity in the field of music for women.

Here are some answers to questions that I get a lot about SAI:

If you're in a frat, why are you a girl? Well, we are sisters in the fraternity. We were founded in 1903 and were considered a sorority when we were first founded but we also are exempt to title nine because we are just women and don't have to let men join.

What do you do? Our main purpose is to help spread music in the campus and community. We do this by going to schools around us and helping with their music departments, hosting hospitality tables for different events hosted by the Troy School of Music, and putting on Musicales at least once a semester.

What do you have to do to join? The requirements to join is have a love of music, well that and to take a music class. We have over 200 active college chapters.

Are you a social organization? No. We are academic, but we do have fun and do fun things. We have things like formals and sisterhood events and do fun things for recruitment but our main thing is music oriented. We put on musicales every semester and do lots of things with the school of music.
